Sunday Amazon Delivery
On Sunday, January 19th the Western New York District will begin delivering parcels on Sundays and Holidays. The Amazon parcels will be shipped to certain hub offices where they will be delivered by CCA’s and in the rural areas by Rural Carrier Assistants. North Tonawanda will be the hub for Tonawanda and Grand Island. In that case CCA’s from all three installations will be utilized. Williamsville will be one of the hubs for Buffalo and will also deliver East Amherst and Snyder. Cheektowaga , Eastside, Hamburg ,L.D.C.A. and Niagara Falls Lasalle will also be hubs.
Most CCA’s will start at 8 AM. The delivery routes will consist of approximately 70 to 80 parcels. Directions from one address to the next will be provided. It is expected that a route should take approximately 6 hours of delivery time. If you take more than 6 hours remember to take your 30 minute lunch as the program will automatically deduct it anyway.
Presently there are only 65 CCA’s in the Buffalo Installation and approximately 35- 40 of them will be needed to deliver on Sundays. The Buffalo Postmaster has agreed to rotate the CCA’s who work on Sundays and Holidays. This means that the average CCA will work 2 out of 3 extra delivery days until additional CCA’s (50 more) can be hired. It is expected that the additional CCA’s will be hired within a couple months.
Also, the Branch will also be holding a benefits/rights seminar on February 2 at Magruder’s Restaurant in Lancaster. The meeting is primarily for our newer employees but anyone may attend. Please call the Branch Office to make reservations. We will begin at 7 PM
