Judy Kersten was elected as a Trustee in Branch 3 in 1991 and later appointed Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.  She began her career with the Postal Service in January, 1988 as a PTF in the City of Buffalo at Southside Station. In January 1989, the Postal Service awarded her a residual Reserve position at Central Park Station, where she still carries today. To her, working at Central Park Station is a form of corporate challenge.

Judy grew up in Lancaster, NY and attended St. Mary’s High School.  She is a graduate of Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math with certification in Secondary Education grades 7 -12. Prior to coming to the Postal Service, Judy was an assistant buyer for the former Adam, Meldrum & Anderson (A, M & A’s) retail store.

Besides her duties as Assist. Sec-Treasurer, Judy currently chairs the WNY Employee Assistant Program Advisory Committee, is the Branch contact for Redress/Mediation EEO and contract Formal A representative. 

Judy is a single Mom with three adult children. Son-in law Ben and daughter Jean have 2 girls and reside in West Seneca.  Son, Steve and daughter, Jodie are gainfully employed and reside at home in South Buffalo.
